New Era in Education
The Official Journal of the World Education Fellowship
New Era in Education is the long-standing peer-reviewed journal of the World Education Fellowship (WEF), with a distinguished international history spanning more than a century. Since its earliest beginnings, the journal has served as a leading platform for educational thought, research, innovation, and professional dialogue across cultures and disciplines.
The origins of the journal date back to 1919, when it was first launched as a newsletter by educational pioneer Beatrice Ensor—two years before the formal establishment of the New Education Fellowship, later renamed the World Education Fellowship. Emerging in the aftermath of the First World War, the publication was founded on a powerful vision: to promote holistic child development, international understanding, and education as a pathway to peace and human progress.
Over the decades, New Era in Education has remained faithful to these founding ideals while evolving to address the changing realities of education in a rapidly transforming world. The journal has consistently embraced an open, inclusive, and interdisciplinary approach to educational discourse, encouraging critical reflection rather than adherence to narrow or doctrinaire perspectives.
Today, the journal continues to provide an international forum for scholars, educators, policymakers, and practitioners to explore contemporary educational issues, emerging research, and innovative practices. It welcomes original scholarly contributions that:
- critically examine educational policy and practice,
- investigate contemporary challenges in teaching and learning,
- identify gaps in existing knowledge,
- explore interdisciplinary perspectives, and
- contribute to international educational dialogue and reform.
By promoting rigorous scholarship, creative thinking, and evidence-informed practice, New Era in Education continues to inspire new generations of educators, researchers, and educational leaders worldwide.
